    The famous photographer-artist Man Ray didn't like to be asked what camera he used. He said "You wouldn't ask Leonardo what kind of paintbrush he used."
    What I want to say is that even if I had Kirsten's camera I would still make my usual semi-unsharp pictures.
    It is the eye of the photographer and her calm hand which makes them so special- and they truly are

    Of course a good camera can add to that- if you are already a photographer. I bow in admiration and know I'm not

    Thanks, Barbara - and everyone else!

    What kind of flower is that they the butterflies are sitting on - is it some kind of heather? My mom wants to know to see if she can grow it here in Florida.
    Must be some kind of thistle, I think... Anyway, the butterflies seem to love them! Glad your mother enjoyed the pics!

    Here are some more! :-)

    Wish I could tell you the names of the different kinds, but I hardly know them in German.

    Fuchs, Pfauenauge and Zitronenfalter- these are the names in German But now it would need more internet research to translate them
    The plant is a Buddleia- butterflies LOVE it.
    The Fuchs is Aglais urticae. The Pfauenauge is Inachis io. And the Zitronenfalter is Gonepteryx rhamni. (Back from research)

    I did some reseach meanwhile, Barbara...

    Fuchs = Tortoiseshell (Nymphalis polychloros)
    Pfauenauge = Peacock (Inachis io)
    Kohlweißling = Large White (Pieris brassicae)
    Zitronenfalter = Brimstone (Gonepteryx rhamni)
    Distelfalter = Painted Lady (Vanessa cardui)

    These are the ones I know for sure. But I have no idea about the rest...
