Poor Hope. She's really cute, she'd be better off if her owner didn't show up and she found a new home. Best of luck to her, all we can do is...hope.
I see dogs like that all the time in grooming. Dogs with freakishly long nails/splayed toes, mats and gunk in their fur, dogs that act terrified, have sores, etc. The owners just let them go I guess and put the grooming and attention off as long as they possibly can. There's been a few that I really didn't want to have the owners even pick them up also.
The worst was a little bunny. No, we don't normally clean bunnies, but the owner said it needed to be cleaned around its hind end. She said that it "didn't clean itself anymore." That was AWFUL...it was so scared, and to get all the stuff off she had to shave it so close (even had to shave the tail!), and it was all bloody...smelly...horrible, I did NOT want that lady to take the poor thing. I told her that she should get it to a vet, and she actually asked "Why?"![]()
