Yes, Kirsten had the correct quote - and showed me the error of my ways, as one more letter is in the wrong place. I'm correcting it with this post, and adding Pinot's Mom C.

    I- the Constit-tion is -hat the S--re-e Co-rt sa-s it is,

then the stri-e -one is -hat the ---ires sa- it is.

Wow, I just got home and am amazed that the puzzle is still going. Alas, I can't solve it either. So...

    I'll guess M please.

We have a winner!! Quietly, Karen watched and waited, and then pounced

She said she will do the next puzzle.

If the Constitution is what the Supreme Court says it is, then the strike zone is what the umpires say it is.

    George Will

I'm reading a book about baseball umpires, and this quote was in it. When I tried to find it on-line, I couldn't - so figured I would pull a Karen

I need to apologize to those across the ocean - I didn't think, until it was posted, that baseball is mostly foreign to you all.

Thank you for the thought Grace, because I don't understand the quote even now that the puzzle is solved.

I wonder if I can explain somewhat. Better yet, this link can explain it better.

Every umpire seems to have his own variations on a theme.

As for the first half, our Supreme Court can, and often does, interpret the Constitution contrary to what some feel is correct.

Have I helped - or just made things worse
