Oh My god Lorraine, I was so shocked to hear that Willy had passed on.
Its one thing to lose a Cat thats older, as we have learned sadly that our Pet Companions are not immortal, but to lose such a Handsome Precious Cat so young is a tragedy.
Willy has so many fans on this site, and there will be many LES when this sad news is learned.
I was just looking at the 2006 Pet Talk Calemdar and Willy is so young there and full of life, that its a bad shock that hes gone so soon.
You did all that you could for Willy, Lorraine and he appreciates that you gacve him a home full of love, and were his dearest friend.
Willy has his wings of silver and gold now and is starting a tour of Provence and the French Riviera with the Animal Angel Army.
But he will never truly be happy until you are all together in Monaco having the seafood and pates.
And you all will be together in Paradise.
    One Fine Day.

I am so very sorry about your sweet Willy...What a terrible loss...So many of us here have been where you are now and know the pain you are feeling. I'm so sorry you lost him at such a young age...The fact that he had cancer at such a young age must have been a shock, but it sounds as though you had done all you could for him, and made the right decision, as difficult as it was. Please know that the thoughts and prayers of all of us here at PT are with you and your Willy today, and that he is happily playing at the RB now, and no longer suffering...He was so very loved while he was here...Cherish the memories you have of him and know that he will always love you and be with you...God bless...

Thank you everyone for your very kind words and to Karen, thank you for that very lovely poem.

Yes, this was very hard on me because I wasn't expecting this terrible diagnosis. I knew something was more wrong with Willy than these bladder infections, because the last few days, he wasn't himself at all. He just basically stayed on the cat tree and when I would go up to him, he would lift his head and let out this pitiful meow which just broke my heart. Then on Friday, we got the dreadful news from the vet about the results of his tests. After he consulted with the other vets he works with, he said Willy had cancer and it was the aggressive kind.
I know I made the right choice, but it is still very hard and I couldn't let my Wild Haired Wee Widdle Willy suffer another day.

The first day my neighbour brought this little kitty to me.

He was such a wee thing, hence his name, Wee Willy Winky.

My all time favorite picture of Willy.

RIP my big beautiful boy. You are sadly missed and will never be forgotten.

Oh my goodness, W3 was such a little fuzz nugget and he grew up to be a big hunk o' burnin' love! I'm so sorry, sweetie. The memories are bittersweet right now but know that you did right by him and Willy knows it, too.
    Blessings,
    Mary

I just saw this. I know how it is to lose a cat at a too-young age. Willy touched everyone's heart, and we will all miss him.

OMG! I was NOT expecting anything like this! I still have the card with the snip of his fur in it that you and he sent to my Little Orphan Annie for Christmas a few years ago! It just doesn't seem possible that Annie's Willy is gone from this earth! I know he is at the Rainbow Bridge now with my Angel, and they are probably sharing stories about Little Orphan Annie. They may even be laughing about the year that Annie and Willie both took "virtual reality" trips, each "sending" him- or herself to the other without knowing it, and still not getting to meet up with each other in "purson"! That WAS funny, once people on here realized what was going on! I'll never forget Willy, and I don't think I'll tell Annie about him quite yet. I don't think she'd handle it very well...........................

You are in my thoughts and prayers...............................

    Lorraine:
I don't come to the Memorial Section very often. I find it too hard.....
I'm so very sorry for you loss and I know only too well the heartache and the void it leaves behind. Wee Willy was a very lucky kitty to find a wonderful Meowmie. In my own experience, the hurt gets better but the longing to see our RB kitties again never leaves us.

    {{{hugs}}}
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

Lorraine (((HUGS))), I don't know how I could miss this!! I'm so sorry that you have lost your beautiful Willy!! It's easy to see from your posts how hard this is for you, and the fact that it came so out of the blue doesn't make it easier to bear. And he was still so young!

    R.I.P. sweet Willy!
