Oh no! I am so sorry to hear about Max. Did he get sub-qs at the vet? That should have made him feel better right away.
It is so good that you know how to administer them. Filou has a trip to the vet scheduled every week for 4 years now and without them we wouldn't have him around anymore.
Sending big hugs to sweet Max and Meowmie.

Slick, I'm really sorry to hear how Max' health is declining. Can you start giving him sub-q fluids now? Perhaps a couple of times a week to begin with. It's a little consolation that his input and output are good and he's happy to see you.

Fister and I are sending gentle headbumpies, kisses and hugs.

The girls are sending all their best wishes for their good friend Max.

I hope that he perks up with the fluids and you have him with you a while longer. Please give him a big, big hug from me.

To the Max -Max! You have some things left to do here.

I will be thinking of you and Max.
I did Taz's sub-q's for the first time last night. I about had a breakdown before, but I did it! So I know you can do it too.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

Aw, Slick, I'm so sorry to read this. Mitzi is suffering from renal disease too. She's not in any discomfort, but I can tell she's lost weight and her fur isn't quite as shiny. As long as she's eating and chasing her tail, I know she's okay - maybe not 100%, but she's not in any discomfort. We shall both enjoy our critters for as long as they may be comfortable and happy. We don't want them to suffer.

    Thank you for your replies.

Max is losing all his hair on one side of his body. Not sure whether or not it's from the renal failure but we have a white coat appt on Thursday at 11:30. At that time, Dr. Singh will go over with me how to give sub-q fluids and he will shave a "launching pad" on the back of his neck (this due to the fact that it's hard to find the skin under all that persian fur.)

    This rips me up inside.

Slick, I am so sorry to hear that Max is not doing so well. Maybe the sub-q fluids will prolong his life, and he will be with you much longer than expected.

    Hugs,
    Willie

Vitamin B does come as a liquid. Go ask your local pharmacist or you can even order it online...
