By the way, this reminds me of an experience I had not long ago.
I was taking a lonely stroll through the woods of Willow Oak, and I heard a strange noise. I was startled to see a very small fawn, which still had its spots. I stood still and looked around figuring on seeing the mother somewhere nearby. The fawn had seen me and was standing very still. A few moments passed until I heard another noise. I don't know how to describe it really, but it was sort of like a rough snort. I turned to see what apparently was the mother. I was squarely between mother and baby. So ..., slowly and carefully I backed away from the scene.
Ah, such is life at Willow oak. I make the payments on the place, which apparently is actually owned by others.
Hi Kirsten,
In your hands a camera produces art. Each picture is nothing short of breath taking. I love the one showing someone's paw. It looks like a very beautiful and well maintained zoo and the animals look well cared for.
Your pictures really make me want to go there. Have you considered showing the management the pictures for a possible promotional booklet? I'd love to see you get the recognition you deserve for your extraordinary photography.
FIND A PURPOSE IN LIFE.....BE A BAD EXAMPLE
Willow Oak, what a wonderful encounter! That must have been a really special moment!
Thanks, momcat!Yes, it's true, it's a beautiful zoo and the animals look healthy and well cared for; and many of them have enclosures that resemble their natural habitats. However, not everything's perfect (but can a zoo ever be perfect for animals?), but they're working on it, as it seems.
Kirsten
