Family Outraged After Officer Shoots Their Dog

I guess the police could not determine if the dog was rabid and didn't want it running loose to bite others? They may have been following rules they were required to follow.

Animal control handles that, not the cops. Well, supposedly.

Okay, if they weren't sure the dog was rabid then WHY in the h3!L did an officer bend over to PICK him up!?! Why shoot him (three times!!!) after he bit the officer?
Maybe we aren't hearing the entire story, but it's just ridiculous IMO.

Poor doggie and poor family.
