I used to pooh-pooh the idea of taking calcium, feeling that I got enough in my diet. However I now have very severe osteoporosis and a history of numerous fractures because of the bone loss. I wish I had started on a preventive course earlier.
I guess that's why I tend to be preachy about taking calcium supplements, since I hate to see anyone needlessly go thru what I did. It's such an inexpensive and easy way to prevent a lot of future misery.

I go in tomorrow to hopefully get my cast off, please keep your fingers crossed for me that my foot has healed enough because I am indeed going nuts.

I believe I will get a walking boot and will need that for 3 weeks, I still can't drive but hubby is retired so he can drive me to work everyday, I have missed two months of work and need to get back.

I know I won't be able to come home and do four hours of housework but it would be nice the house needs it! Hubby does pretty good but its not the same you know what I mean

Great to hear about your progress to the "boot". Wishing you better healing than the 'experts' ever dreamed of. (They've been wrong before. )

Well the cast came off and the boot went on. I still can't walk on it or put weight on it for a month but he said it is healing nicely and the screws are intact.

He said I can go back to work, I will have hubby drive me. At least I can take the boot of to sleep and shower. Frankly I don't even see the sense of the boot if I use the knee walker but whatever I guess it will protect it.

He also gave me elastic bands to do resistence training on my foot.

    Oh Happy Day!!

It'll be great sleeping without discomfort! I know, when I slept in a certain position, I did feel slight pain, but then, it sure was easier to switch around! I felt like a toddler when I started walking again. It was so funny and strange. I was allowed to walk with the boot a little bit (and of course I took it to the extreme ). It took a while for my foot to look and feel normal again, but it's great news that the doc is satisfied! Onward and Upward! I'm very happy for you!
