I got a water tight sleeve that just slipped on and off, and it was a godsend. Just Google Seal-Tight Cast Protector and you'll find lots of places where you can purchase them. They have them for arms and legs, and in different lengths.
My husband looked all around for those, he went to a medical supply store and got one but its not very good. Walmart.com has a good one but I didn't want to wait for it.

Before the surgery we had a double trash bag, rubber band and duct tape method that worked well, its just now not being able to put any weight at all on the leg is what worries me but I got the lawn chair so I will give it a try today.

    Thanks for the help.

When my husband had rotator cup surgery I showered with him every morning (at 4:30 am - trust me- it wasn't romantic! ).

I have also done the "bath with one leg hanging out." Just make sure your husband helps you into and out of the tub!

We tried the bath thing once it was pretty miserable because to hang my leg over my back had to be up against the spout. Getting of a tub with one leg hanging out is easier said than done too.

You probably should be taking it all the time - especially now that you've had a broken bone. If you don't mind me asking - how old are you? You can tell me it's none of my business if you want!
