I'm so sorry. ..You have a very beautiful heart and this thread makes that very apparent. They will be back again and will bring you joy. I believe they know how much you care as well, that's why you were able to get so close for those outstanding pictures. They come to you for a reason. I looked up the Stork as a totem animal an found this:

When the stork appears a birth or rebirth will soon happen. The stork is typically a bringer of new energies. Its appearance often precedes a change in the family dynamic, which may or may not be a new baby born to the family. The stork teaches the value of family and the need to protect the family unit as a whole. When the stork appears you may need to reconnect with your roots.

    Sending love,
    Cathy

Thanks for your kind words! I'm still so sad and could cry all the time!

Cathy, that's really beautiful, thanks for sharing! And I really feel like I had a special connection to him. Whenever I went out with my camera, there he was and let me take photos. My co-worker, who also tried to take pics but who always missed him, used to tease me that I was obviously having a special bond with him. All this makes it even harder now.

Oh, that's so sad. I'm so sorry, Kirsten.
I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
    Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.

Oh no! It's so sad! I know what you feel, I hate when an inocent animal is hurt or killed and I am sad even if I do not know personally this animal. Don't pay attention to your collegue, she/he does not understand because she doesn't have your sensitivity and does not like much animals.

    RIP beautiful stork.

    Kirsten,

You took some awesome pictures!! I'm sorry about the loss of the stork. Do you know what happened to the adult that's gone? That is so sad.

    RIP sweet babies.

Let's hope the female will be more lucky in life, and that she will find a new partner.

Well, it's most unlikely that the mom will find a new friend for this season. This summer, she will be alone. She may be back with another one next year, we'll see.

moosmom, I don't know what happened to the body. I was wondering the same already...
