Update because I haven't given one lately. My teacher's husband is doing MUCH better. He goes to the outpatient burn clinic for dressing changes. His hands are healing slowly. He did have surgery once to remove some excess scar tissue. Unlike healthy skin, scar tissue is hard and tight, so they have to take it off to help the new skin continue to heal properly. Next step is for the doctors to determine whether he will need skin grafts to his hands. I'll keep you posted.

    Thank you,

I don't want to post this generally, 'cause it really, in the grand scheme of things, isn't a big deal and maybe it's a little selfish. I'd like prayers for my upcoming procedures. My family has a history of TERRIBLE teeth. I just got back from the dentist and the last molar on my bottom jaw (which already had a substantial crown) has a severe abcess. There is also no bone left in that section of my jaw and there have been some other teeth removed from my lower. I am on a medication for psoriatic arthritis (an autoimmune disease) which makes me not a good candidate for dental implants. I am seeing a specialist trained at the Mayo Clinic to consult on how to save, and possibly rebuild, my lower jaw and teeth. That last molar (I do have other teeth, the whole front LOOKS normal) was important structurally so this is a blow. My upper jaw is fine - I'll have to be thankful for that! Maybe it will help me lose weight!

    Thanks for any thoughts...Maggie
