Surging jaws of a large dog?!? Give me a friggen break. I've dealt with agressive dogs waaaay bigger than 68lbs and I in no way felt it nessicary to strike a dog.
There is absolutely no way that a single hit from a stick could cause THAT much damage. I think the guy needs to be thrown in jail for the rest of his miserable life.
