Katie - I am sorry for all the pain you are in right now and that AbiGail had such a short life, though a very good one I know. FIP is a truly awful disease and there is nothing to be done. I lost three five-month-old kittens to it about a year ago and I haven't been able to bear the thought of fostering kittens again. I blamed the shelter for putting them in an adoption center where they had had two other kittens die of FIP earlier in the year, and I blamed them for not seeing that my kittens were not bouncing back from the fairly routine URI they got at the center. I just had to throw the blame at someone because the pain was awful. I had handed them three older kittens who were bounding with vitality and life, and they had exposed them to the URI infection that mutated into FIP. Of course, it wasn't really their fault. Some cats are simply genetically more likely to get it than others.
Please let us know that Annabelle has bounced back into good health.
