It must be so strange to be in a different 'bed' as they travel. Such beautiful horses.

I think they overnighted at the farm my dad lived/worked on back in the 80s. Not those horses exactly.

Beautiful horses, thanks for the vids.

Vela, do the horses have wraps around their lower legs? They look like leg warmers, which shows you how little I know about horses. Are they protective wraps for the horses' legs? I noticed that one horse in the video had a braided tail, and a couple of the others did not. The horses are so full of spirit! They are just gorgeous. Thank you for these!

I saw the Royal Lipizzan stallions once, probably 25 years ago. Right around this time of year - I think we took my grandmother for Mother's Day. She loved it. My mom loves horses so I will happily show her these pictures and videos!

The horses have shipping boots on their legs, they are protection. They horses spend a lot of their time in the trailers traveling and those offer support and protection.

One horse has a braided tail and mane. He is the Andalusian stallion for their show. He shows off the spanish "dancing". The Lipizzaner is a desecendant of the Andalusian, Barbs (Arabian type horses), and Berbers.

For those who don't know about them, the Lipizzaner horses come from the Spanish Riding School in Vienna Austria. They do the "airs above the ground", the "mounted quadrille", and make great dressage horses. They were also the horses saved by General Patton during WWII when he sent American troops in to rescue the breeding mares over enemy lines.

Omg... they are breath-taking! You are sooo lucky! I think Lipizzaners are my favorite breed of horse, right up with Norwegian Fjords.
