While I hate restrictor plate racing, I hate to think of what kind of wrecks we would be having at both Daytona and Talladega if the speeds were allowed to go up. If Buddy Baker could drive a 200+ lap in 1970 think what kind of speeds they could attain today. That wreck that Carl had on the last lap may have been a real disaster because his car may have cleared the fence. The 7 slightly injured people would have turned into hundreds dead. Nascar knew what they were doing when they mandated the plate in 88.

Wow is almost putting it midly. Just looking at when his car came down on Ryan Newman and the way that fence is tore up scares me
