I saw the "devil dog" act too. Dave was just being funny. The dog he
was talking about had a trick of showing all his teeth in a wide grin, when
he owner said the magic word like, smile. Letterman thought the dog looked
scary, or something.

Dave seemed to love Bailey's trick as much as I did.
