When I was a teenager, my dad would get Surplus Spam which is an even, um, less quality grade than commercial Spam, if you can imagine. My mom would pack my school lunch and the kids could smell me comin'. Just thinking about it today makes me gag. Some Surplus goods were tasty; the butter was really good and chicken in a can was, too, believe it or not. Open the can and an entire cooked chicken would come out; great for soup. But Spam?
