This is true. I worked for a dentist for 10 years (not clinically but in the front desk area) and I know that the infection must be treated first or the area will not be able to get numb. The decision to have the tooth pulled or not is, of course, your own. Some dentists will allow payment plans and all take credit cards. Perhaps you could put it on a credit card and pay it off that way. Good luck!
