I think like the 2 or 3third from my last tooth.. the bigger tooth or the one next it to on the top right... its horribly painful. I have to see a specialist asap to get it taken care of

Ouchy Ouchy I would bet it is painfull.. I would say if its bleeding into you sinus == then for sure pull it.. Now you are young so yes your teeth will shift some (small amount) in years.. Maybe in 10 to 15 to 20 years.. But you can correct that usally with no problems.. Pull the darn tooth & get out of pain..

When I was young, over several years,....I opted to have several teeth pulled because of the expense of the alternative. I ended up regretting it alot. I had so many teeth pulled, I couldn't chew properly. It caught up with me. $15,000 later, I'm fine now.

I would try to save it if I were you. However, if it's the only tooth you ever plan to have pulled, go ahead. These days, the dentists try to save the teeth. At least mine does. Good luck.

I had both root canal and pulled tooth... a root canal in the second after the canine in the lower right side... I had a bad filling and it just bursted.. LOL... they did a quick "fix" that went bad, it got filled up with bacteria... so I had to have a root canal... I too would have had it pulled... I still think that...

it didnīt cost me as much maybe around 500 dlls... the whole root canal and crown thing... I had to go in several times as i had 3 roots instead of the normal 2 and had to use many many anaesthesia as it took a while to kick in...

few months later I had to go again becaue i had a wisdom molar grow and it was bothering me, results were I had no space so they pulled it...

since that day I kept thinking why didnīt I had the other one pulled...

I had a filling that went bad also!! it was a really deep cavity i must of had it for a long time and now its infected, and I need a root canal... I was smiling in the mirror and I can see the tooth alittle bit so if they pulled my tooth out It would be noticable if I smile and I dont want that...
Would you have rather had your root canal pulled though?

Im not worried about my teeth shifting alittle if its not noticable in the front and if it takes 15 years but still I dont know...
To have it pulled and get a spacer that will cost 600 prolly.. to have a root canal at the other dentist I talked to today they said I could get the root canal and then a filling over it instead of a crown and it will be about 600 or 700 all together. They havent looked at it yet though so im not sure what dentist to listen to.. the cheaper dentist is the one who filled my tooth that is not infected but he doesnt usually seem to be a bad dentist.

Im also afraid because i have to go on antibiotics and im afraid they wont beable to do the root canal until im done with the meds. My dad said they wont do it if its still infected at all because my mouth wont go numb when they give me the novacane(spelling). I dont know how true that is though.

I had a root canal done on my next to last tooth on the bottom right years ago. Then I received a crown. The crown fell out a few years later. Then I had something called an apicoectomy on that same tooth which involved them taking one of the roots because it went bad. After that they put a second crown on and eventually that one came out and they said there wasn't enough of a root/tooth to hold the crown any longer so they wanted to do a bridge. I forget now how much it was but I did not have that kind of money. Right now I just have a hole and a few nubs of a tooth back there. I will eventually get what is left pulled. Dentistry just costs way too much these days! I don't miss that tooth. I just chew on the other side. Hope this helps!

    Ouch!

I am sorry, I don't have any guidance for this.

Something to consider for the future -0- if you join AAA, they offer a good dental plan. If you go twice per year, and have xrays once per year, that is all covered, no out of pocket. And you saved about $10 from paying for that directly with no insurance. If you need other work done, then you start saving money by having the insurance in place. If you need something like this root canal, they pay half. I have had it for several years now.

Yes, you do have to pay the AAA membership, and yes you do have to pay the monthly dental insurance premiums. I realize not everyone can even afford that much. But it is something available, to consider.

I had a root canal done and a crown put on recently due to a split tooth, and I'm going to have the same done on another next week. And yes, it IS expensive.

However, unless it's the back tooth, I would have it done - and if it is the back tooth, I would have it pulled. Neither of it should affect your front teeth.

I donīt think they canīt numb you if infected... then how in the world can they fix an infected serious urgent tooth... wait till healed... many people wouldnīt come back afer that... IMO... if it doesnīt hurt people doīnīt bother...(some)

anyway... the craown was what costed the most in my case about 300-320 or so... the rest was the root canal ... great thing I was allowed to pay it in payments as I could... you might wanna ask if you can have that benefit..

if when you smile it shows you might feel uncomfortable smiling afterwards.. so you might just have the root canal and depending on how much damage you have you can go for the filling or the crown....
