    Wow! I know you could do that with a colour pencil- but that you can translate it freehand into needlework impresses me very much.

    Thank you everyone

    I did cheat a little.... I have a program that imports photos and turns them into patterns (I've had it for years and am shocked Vista doesn't have compatibility issues with it!)

    However, I still spent a week editing the imported photo. The imported photo was a lot smoother but had a million colors to use and washed out all of his gorgeous brown. I had to edit it so the stitches made sense when stitched (if that makes sense?)

    I am counting the stiches though, and believe me, I have gotten soooo lost a hundred times over on the forehead with all the blend of grey and tan.

    I can't wait to start on the next ones!

    That is really great that a program can do that for you. I know my mom would love that. She does cross-stiching as well.
