    Wait just a minute there, young man!!! He asked for an EXTENSION??? For what??? Bringing up a soggy and destroyed book?? Hmpf. Sounds like he didn't want to admit he had lost/destroyed their book to me. And was it overdue to begin with??!! Sounds like he was a fibber!!! He wanted to get away with it!!

    Off with his head!!!



    But seriously, I'd just be like, holy crap, thank god you're still alive. I hope you weren't reading on the job, and next time, renew your book before you leave for your next trip. Then, write off the book and make to mark in his personal records what a responsible patron he is!
