Saturday night I watched The Women. It wasn't until over half way through the movie that I realized there are NO men in this movie. Not even in scenes where there are a lot of people. The only male that makes it on screen is a baby at the very end. (Sorry if that ruined it for anyone.) I just thought this was very interesting. The movie was okay. I loved Meg Ryans hair when it is curly.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

Lately I have been taking time off of my sports channels and watching movies.

In the last few weeks I saw....

Fear ***- Good Mark Wahlberg movie- He plays a creep in this one.

Reservation Road **** - Dude, I never really cared for Joaquin Phoenix. I thought he was a DB in the gladiator movie. He always snags the deep roles that you have to watch two or three times to figure out who he is playing.
His roles are really too deep to handle-they make me really uncomfortable.
    good movie-drags a little.

The Longest Yard **** - The Original! Burt Reynolds was great in this! I was watching this at 3 in the morning and I was laughing loud and hard!

    Documentaries should count

And if TV on DVD counts, then I've been watching Angel for like... weeks. I have way too much TV on DVD

The Waitress-It was pretty good. A little slow at first but it picked up.

Is it just me or has the movie selection this past year been lame? I can't think of the last good movie I've rented. I am looking forward to going to see Marley and Me...it's been soooo long since I've actually wanted to go to see something in the theater.

    Some all time favorites:
    Dave
    Defending your life
    The Green Mile
    The notebook
    In and Out
    50 first dates

Thanks for this thread. I can go rent some oldies but goodies now

I agree, the selection is boring. I rarely go to the movies anymore. I saw some old movies yesterday like The Princess Diaries and Mean Girls, they aren't "old" per say but old enough. I recently got on a lion king kick, GOOD movie!! I loved it, and STILL LOVE IT

I hear people talk about the notebook constantly, I don't like it one bit, I didn't find it believable I guess. I'm not into love stories that much I guess.

I saw Bride Wars yesterday. It was predictable but cute.. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I hadn't seen the trailers. It was one of those movies where ALL the good parts were already in the trailer.. the rest was filler.

I watched National Velvet last night, that's one of my all time favorites. Made in 1944!

I started watching The Other Boleyn Girl, too, but the DVD player malfunctioned and David was already asleep in the other room with a DVD player. Gonna finish it today, but so far, I really like it.

I think the movie selection in the past few years has been pretty great. I rarely have a problem finding a movie I want to see in the theater. I can't remember the last time I rented, though.

Movies I wanna see include, but aren't limited to...

    Gran Torino
    Milk
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
    Marley and Me
    Defiance
    Yes Man

There are many more, but those are just the most recent releases, they're still in theaters.

I saw My Bloody Valentine 3D yesterday. It was SO funny LOL.. but it shouldn't have been :P Lots of gore and bad acting.. it all made for a very amusing movie.
