    What a great thread!

I am at a loss as to what items in my kitchen I cannot live without. Hmmm....

Machine: Stove ( I HATE the microwave)
Tool: Kitchen Aid bowls (use them for almost everything)
Food: vegetable broth (put it in almost everything)

    Veggy Broth??

I've used Chicken Broth and Beef Broth - both sold as ready-to-use liquids ...

Don't remember seeing "Vegetable Broth" on the grocery shelves.
What kind of packaging is it sold in?

Its there, sometimes you can find it easier in the organic section.

Phred, you can get all kinds of broths now at the store. For those who are vegetarian, you can get vegetable broth. You can buy beef, chicken, turkey, you name it really. You might want to look in the organic section as well, they should have "free range" broths and others without MSG. My mom can't use any foods that have certain preservatives in them, and even organic has some stuff in it, so reading the labels are a must.

My whisks from Ikea, I just love them

My set of Santoku knives from Henckles. They make cooking so much easier when you have knives that chop easily.
