thank you so much everyone.

as painful as it is to post this I feel I need to do it for Rocky.

He did take a turn for the worse last week and died Sunday morning. We had a vet appt. scheduled yesterday for him so we could see what we could do for him but he died suddenly on Sunday morning before I went to work. I still don't want to face reality but it is sinking in now that's he's gone for good. I will post a memorial later for him, I can't bring myself to do it right now. I'll try tonight though.. but thank you so much everyone for your support.

Oh Krista, you got me tearing up again. That's such a nice picture of you and Rocky. I know how hard this is for you. {{{hugs}}}

Rocky you were one of those dogs that is rare to find.
We have had you since I was 11 or older.
I remember when we had to put our basset/beagle mix
down around Christmastime and you bothered him so much.

You definately filled the void and brought
Christmas/holiday spirit around in this family
and it's going to be a very hard
Christmas without you now and always!

You're the reason why I get so excited around Christmastime
like I am a little kid all over again.
You have always sat beside me when I open presents. Even though you won't be here physically with us this year, I know you'll be with us at Christmas and always!

You have touched all the people that
was lucky enough to meet him especially our family. You just have
that effect on everyone!

You have touched our family in so many ways and
I just feel like my heart has been ripped out and
broken into a million pieces, dear boy. Like part of my heart has went with you.

You never met a person you didn't like
like and vice versa.
Everyone loved you and you loved us back
unconditionally!

You've been to so many family reunions and was in the Christmas card last year just because you stood right by me like always!

When you went to the lake for family picnics
you would go with us and always
went by the water with me. So everytime we
went to the lake
you would swim a little and be right by my side.
It will be hard
going without you now.

You always had a sparkle in your eyes when he
looked at us and when you lost that sparkle this week we knew something was terribly wrong with you.

I will probably post more pictures
later when I feel up to it but this is me and Rocky in Christmas of 2006.


I love you big boy. I know he had a great life with us but
I have to say that doesn't make the pain any easier to deal with.
When I came home today and he wasn't there to greet me yesterday or today I can't even explain the pain.

I just hope Rocky knew how much we loved him. Now that I have 2 days off it still hurts more than anything.

Our other furbabies are comforting us and helping us
through this and our family is helping each other out
to be there for each other. We haven't lost a dog for 12 years and the pain is very fresh.

I love you so much Rocky boy.
Thank you so much for 12 wonderful years of
friendship, loyalty, and being there for us through
thick and thin.
I feel honored to have had you as OUR dog
and we will always remember you and love you..
I have a picture of you at work and was going to
bring it home but I need you there at work
and everywhere I go and I know you are with me now as I can
feel your presence.

This house is just not the same without you. :cry:
Rocky is the reason I love black dogs so much.
He was truly a treasure to have around.

November 1st 1996 - December 14th 2008 - Rocky the most wonderful dog on the planet. You will be forever missed, loved, and in our hearts..

You know tomorrow I am going to buy a notebook just for you so I can write to you. I think that will help me a lot. I hope you're healthy again at the bridge and loving every bridge kid up there! I know you will look out for us and our safety. When I slept on the couch at night and you were out there I felt safe. So thank you for so many wonderful years. I will write you again soon, I promise.

Krista, I am so sorry. I know I said it before, but I really am. I know how heartbroken you are. I know they won't replace Rocky but I hope your other furkids will help you heal a little. I'll be here anytime you need to talk, remember I only went through this a little over 7 months ago and am still hurt by the loss, I know how you feel
