I don't plan on adding a pet, frankly, for a loooonnnng time.
We have a snake, who is apparently going to outlive all of us, but once he is gone, no more small animals in cages. The snake was my son's pet, he got him in grade school. Now my son is almost eighteen ... and you know how that goes, it's pretty much my snake now.
We also have six dogs. Keito is about sixteen years old, Pepper and Lucky are twelve, Georgie and Vanilla are eight ... and then we have the puppy, who is one and a half. So, I really can't see us adding any dogs to the pack until everyone has gone to doggie heaven except Sequoia. Then I might get a similar-aged friend for her.
So, no new dogs for about eight years, most likely.
"We give dogs the time we can spare, the space we can spare and the love we can spare. And in return, dogs give us their all. It's the best deal man has ever made" - M. Facklam
"We are raised to honor all the wrong explorers and discoverers - thieves planting flags, murderers carrying crosses. Let us at last praise the colonizers of dreams."- P.S. Beagle
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king." - J.R.R. Tolkien
