Yikes... good vibes for Rita! If I were you, I wouldn't be vaccinating her anymore after today. Ever.

Thank you all for your concern. I can always count on you guys to give me advice.

Rita is all better today. The cortosone shot really worked, thank goodness. Last night, she was extremly uncomfortable. We finally got the poor baby to lie down, and we just petted her.
Thank you all so very much.

I'm very glad she had an owner who knew what to look for and when to be worried. Lucky pupper. In the future, if you are going ot get her vaccinated again, ask your vet about pre-medicating her with Benadryl to prevent a reaction.

    Thank you Wolf_Q!

Dr. Apple said in the future, if I will get her vaccinated again, he will treat her differently, such as giving her a steroid shot before the vaccine. And Rita is better than ever!

I'm glad she's doing better now.

I'm rather surprised they suggested a steroid injection in conjunction with a vaccination, as they tend to interfere with the body's immune response to the vaccine possibly causing it to be less effective. Normally at work we have been known to premedicate with Benadryl, and for more severe reactions we require the pet be dropped off and stay the afternoon they are vaccinated for observation.
