Thanks you two for your replies.I believe these were shots they have had before, the combo one.
Dr. Apple came by a little while ago, just to check and see how Rita was doing. She's back to her normal, goofy as heck Labby girl!

Do you get these for her yearly? If so, you may want to consider going every other year, every three years, or even better - titering. The titers would tell if her immunity was low (usually a dog is fine for a long time, even a lifetime, from one series of shots). If that's not something you want to do, try going with individual shots and spacing them out by a week or more.
Shot reactions can be very serious. I'm glad Rita's feeling better though![]()
Now she has hives. Dr. Apple just left and gave her a cortosone shot, the hives will go away in a couply of hours. She is panting heavily, and can't seem to sit still. She's walking around the house, and I imagine she's very itchy.Poor baby, I really can't stand seeing her like this.

That is really scary! If the hives don't diminish soon, you can try giving her an oatmeal bath, or if you have some aloe&oatmeal shampoo on hand, that could work too. These will help with itching. For now, just try to get her to calm down. Lay down with her and see if you can get her to lay still and keep her heart rate down. I'm not trying to scare you, but it's better to be cautious in a situation like this.
Yikes... good vibes for Rita! If I were you, I wouldn't be vaccinating her anymore after today. Ever.

Thank you all for your concern. I can always count on you guys to give me advice.
Rita is all better today. The cortosone shot really worked, thank goodness. Last night, she was extremly uncomfortable. We finally got the poor baby to lie down, and we just petted her.
Thank you all so very much.

I'm very glad she had an owner who knew what to look for and when to be worried.Lucky pupper. In the future, if you are going ot get her vaccinated again, ask your vet about pre-medicating her with Benadryl to prevent a reaction.
