As said before I keep my dogs on heartworm year round but as far as vaccines go I only get them done when needed. (just like dixieland dancer). I get titers done yearly. I do give yearly vaccines for the first 2-3 years to build up antibodies then just as needed. But check w/ your vet before making any changes that are medical.
