I really want to sign up but I'm afraid I won't be able to afford it this year.

Remember - you can always do postcards instead of cards in envelopes, and save yourself money postage-wise!

I would have signed up this year, but felt that it was a commitment I may not be able to uphold because I'm still unemployed.. so, maybe next year

Why not create an Christmas e-mail list for those who can't do snail mail for whatever reason? They can be really lovely printed out.
