    That was great.

I like the mother of the boy comment: my son knows better than to remove campaign signs....

    Does he? Srsly?

What did the tape show he was doing then? Dusting it, while holding a replacement sign?

The man was absolutely in the right. Although, he'll probably get sued or something.

BTW, I don't care which party's campaign sign it was, for the record.

The boy's dad said he just wanted to see how the sign was put together.

YAH, RIGHT! Nothing like teaching your son to lie and BS.

The sign owner does not face charges.

Why that is terrible! How can you really say that?
    snicker

NOw that I have said the politcally correct thing.

Serves the little AH right. And I hope there is no way that the parent can sue.

Of course, besides the tresspassing charge, maybe theft or vandalism the kid will skate and the bleeding hearts will castigate the person who rigged the sign up.

Next time rig it with a punji pit, land mines or a 240 volt line.
    -----------

Sure, your son know better than to steal signs and play with electricty too?

I want to see the movie but I can't!

LOL, I was going to post a thread about Thomas Edison and his electrocuting an elephant. This is way better!

I do not vote, nor do I have an opinion on any props or presidents AT ALL. My only complaint is people getting their children involved. The other day at a busy intersection each corner had about 10 people holding up Yes on Prop 8 signs (again, I don't vote and don't have an opinion either way), this is the gay marriage one mentioned earlier. There were small children out there holding up these signs. I didn't like that one bit. And as I said even if they were holding up No on Prop 8 signs, I still don't agree with the children being out there.

As for the sign on this mans property. As most others said, it's PRIVATE property and this kid is trespassing and stealing or causing destruction (I'm not even sure of the details).

I didn't read through this entire thread. So if my post is now off subject, sorry.
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

I just went to the mall and got mobbed by prop 8 sign holders, they were actually going in the street...it was scary and dangerous.

What about signs on public property or common property? Are those "fair game"? Who decides if the signs can go there and which signs? And who gets to be offended if the signs are taken (I don't think stolen can apply here?)

And who cleans up later??? (We know the answer to that one! ....no one!)

And who decides how to vote based on what signs are in someone's yard?

That's what I keep thinking - do the signs really matter in the end?

My neighbor has so many signs in his yard that I have a hard time seeing up the road when I am trying to pull out of my driveway. I can't wait until this election is over.....

I think it's sad enough he even had to go as far as putting the shock on it. It just shows how you have to worry about these type of things happening to your sign. I've never heard of a sign being touched here, no one really has any signs around here then again.
