LH..how long ago was that? Seems to me there's been lots of improvements as competition has gotten more intense. I won't go back to cable as I feel it's monopolistic and has no customer service. Comcast sucks.

Thanks Taz (luvs on the kitten!) Craftlady, Grace and Jenn. Really appreciate your help. If I go with the referall bonus I will certainly tell them you were the source. I'll private you when I figure this out.
I took the name and direct line for the customer service AT&T lady that helped me today. She was great and should be acknowledged.
Cheers to all my pt family for the help! You guys rock!

I just had to call customer service for Dish a couple weeks ago and had GREAT service. In fact the girl I talked to was doing something for me and we had to wait. So we started chatting and ended up talking about our dogs!! I got her name and operator ID if I have to call back again I'll ask for her, if she's on the shift.

Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

That mess was about 1 1/2 years ago....they might have improved, but once bitten, twice shy.

Make sure to get a service contract with Direct TV if you go with them. I didn't have it when I first signed up, and had trouble with the signal, and they billed me $75 for the home visit.

The home visit consisted of a guy lacking a belt on his jeans, bent over on my one small roof listening to a baby monitor to hear the signal. You CAN do this on your tv as well... hear the beeps. They used a baby monitor to tell if the beeps went up as they turned the dish. Just a hint... in case that ever happens where someone loses signal.

I did not end up having to pay for the service call, as I called customer service, said I wasn't told of a fee (I wasn't), and then signed up for the service plan. Haven't needed it since actually.

I was not paying $75 to see some guy's butt crack, lol, that was for sure!

"Since you have AT&T, have you checked to see if they offer FiOS - I've heard that is on a par with satellite for quality of picture."

Grace, she did check and they don't offer FiOS here That was originally why I called.
Looks like we are pretty much neck and neck between Direct and Dish so I think I'll use a little negotiating power with both and see where the best deal is since the services seem to be even. Thanks again everyone!
