    I love when I hear that people have adopted an older cat. For some reason, alot of people that have no time to devote to their furry family take kittens or puppies and then abandon them at a shelter when they get a little older. My cat Beyli was 5 or so when I adopted him - he had been dumped at the shelter 2 years earlier and was quite thin because he had been declawed and was too shy (nervous) to go to the food bowl as often as he needed to. So, bless you for giving this fella the forever home he deserved. And it's true what they say, cats and dogs adopted from a shelter KNOW they have been saved and give you all the love in the world in thanks.
    Please have your pets sterilized as soon as possible to lower, and one day hopefully eliminate, unwanted and abandoned pets. It IS our responsibility. Adopting from a shelter also helps - encouraging breeders just adds to the overpopulation.
