    Illogical, as expected, IMO.

    My two cents worth ....

I can see the logic intended behind dividing the sporting and hound groups. Not sure it was necessary, but at least it shows some logic.

The working group has always baffled me, and continues to do so. Working at what, exactly? Guarding? What about the dalmatian? And a lot of the "working" dogs are actually herding dogs.

And the toy and companion groups ... oh wow. Makes NO sense. A Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is a toy ... but a Bichon Frise or a French Bulldog is not? What? Why not just call them all companion dogs?

And why not call "Northern" group the "Spitz" group? Asian breeds are not "northern" ... but are spitz descendants, generally. But the shar pei??? I can see a team of shar pei running the Idiarod, eh? LMAO.
"We give dogs the time we can spare, the space we can spare and the love we can spare. And in return, dogs give us their all. It's the best deal man has ever made" - M. Facklam

"We are raised to honor all the wrong explorers and discoverers - thieves planting flags, murderers carrying crosses. Let us at last praise the colonizers of dreams."- P.S. Beagle

"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king." - J.R.R. Tolkien

Where does the Xolo fit into this? They will be recognized next year. What group will they be in? Companion?!?!

I just hate the fact that AKC is dividing groups by looks instead of what they were bred to do. I agree, the only plus to this is the Dal being placed in the working group. They were pretty much working dog.

Another thing I want to know. What about rankings? Will the dog that is # 1 in it's group STILL be #1 if it is moved to another group??? Getting to that ranking is hard enough and takes a great amount of time, patients, and money. What if the new group has dogs with many more points? Will this dog have to go out and special more to try and get that spot back?

REST IN PEACE GRACIE. NOT A DAY GOES BY THAT I DON'T MISS YOU.
