It's so easy to read a dog if there's so much as loud voices in the house. I've read that owners often lose their pets during a violent outburst in the home. Some pets are so sensitive to this that if they have a chance to run through an open door they run and keep running. To them their life seems to fall apart when their owners fight and bicker. I've always found it so unfair that unstable homes with violence are allowed any pets, the animal is the one to suffer the most....seems there should be law to protect pets from this kind of thing.

Here's a list of Safe Havens for Animals in the USA. Different services have different names in different cities, but I'd be very surprised if any of them would turn away a volunteer host for an abused woman's furkids.

Anybody got a similar list for Canada?

Maybe we could all take the time to give back to organizations who help fix domestic violence issues. Like shelters. Donations of time, money, or items are a great way to give back.

I'm in complete agreement. Time and money are the most needed.
