Half Australian, with some of that half descending from Scotland and who knows where else (the skeletons in the family closet aren't all out yet!). The other half is Dutch for at least the last four generations. I speak English, a bit of French, and am picking up a few Catalan phrases thanks to this board! Dad gave up Dutch when he came here as a schoolboy, so I never learnt the language but when my relatives are trying to have secret squirrel conversations in Dutch, I pick up enough to work it out
