    Any follow-up? I'm guessing he was fine and the phrase "This, too, shall pass" applies to styrofoam and tortoises ...

    We once had a snapping turtle - a hatchling - whose only "command set" seemed to be

    1. Bite it

    2. If it tastes good, chew and swallow

    3. If not, try again.

    Repeat 1-3 ad infinitum.

    He'd try to eat my thumb, even though it would be like me trying to take a bite from the middle of a wall - his head was 1/4 the size of my thumb ... but that didn't stop him from trying at every opportunity!

    I'm assuming he's fine since he's still defecating and he's eating fine and acting normal

    I looove turtles and tortoises, though, a friend in High School's mother had a few tanks with snappers in them she kept as pets, they were HUGE and so neat!
