McCain must think that one women is the same as the next.
    He really doesn't get it.

I've heard that the party bigwigs didn't want her to be chosen & this
really is the choice McCain made himself.

This Palin person has the coldest eyes I've
ever seen. Watch her the next time she speaks & see if you see a real
person behind her smile. She gives me a creepy feeling.

Yep I think there is a very real person behind that smile. Last night was her first time "up at bat" and I am ready to hear and see more. I can hardly wait for the debates. This election is getting more interesting each day. The woman who gives me the creepy feeling is Nancy Pelosy!

    It's Pelosi Pam. (Italian name)

Anywho, Palin's speech was written by a Bush speech writer and has the
same devisive rhetoric of the present Bush/Cheney administration.

I'm inclined to agree, however the way she delivered it was just a little too "cutsie and girlie" for me to take her seriously!

I actually admired Palin before her speech last night, all she did was insult her opponent, no new ideas and obviously none of her own ideas and what an irritating voice.

Maybe we should try Arthur C. Clarke's Imperial Earthmethod of electing a President: everyone of the proper age and with a 4 year degree's name is put into a giant lottery, and the "winner" gets to be President. The idea being, the person who doesn't want the job might actually do a great job, if only to get time off for good behavior! (The last was a paraphrase of a quote about how they picked the President.)

It would be the logical way to do it, but would never happen. Too elitist.

Well, I still don't know that much about her, but I do agree about the
voice. To shrill for me to listen to seriously, she hurts my ears.

Liz, I didn't hear any hate. I heard criticism and sarcasm but that is not hate. I also heard lots of criticism at the Democratic convention directed at the Republicans (What else is new? That's what both sides do at conventions. ) I think that since I am more "on the fence" with this election I am able to view things with less bias and am paying careful attention to exactly what they are really saying.

Caseysmom, her voice reminded me very much of Sally Field. I think if I closed my eyes I might have thought that Gidget was delivering the speech.

Yes, at the beginning of his speech last night he said that he was happy to be able to speak at the convention but had hoped he would be giving an acceptance speech tomorrow night (meaning tonight).

He committed political suicide. He said he would want to amend the Constitution so that it, "looks like the Bible".

Did anyone see the Code Pink protestors that were carted out of the convention during McCain's speech?

One of the local radio stations, KABC-AM 790 Lost Angeles were covering the convention. One of the broadcast team was talking to two women who stopped him to ask about him bracelet. He stood in the aisle, chatting to them for a while, when a protestor began to scream at McCain.

Doug McIntyre, the host of the show, was crouching next to a wall near the woman who started the ruckus, when one of the security guards jumped over the wall and kicked McIntyre in the head while trying to get to her.

She was escorted out, along with the two other women who had stopped to chat with the 'bracelet guy'. A few minutes later the security detail came back and tried to throw him out! They thought, because he was talking to the women, that he was part of the group trying to disrupt the gathering.

He was able to show some I.D. and was allowed to go back inside.
It was funny radio and they were joking about it....Just as I said before-I don't care for stupid protestors and their causes, especially when they act stupid. They always cause problems and innocent people get caught up in their BS.

    ------

    DUDE!

I can't remember who said this about SP....A woman was breaking down SP's nomination and made a comment that I have only heard women use when they speak 'off the cuff'. It has to do with a woman's sect-shul orientation.
I had to stop and think about what she said-It was a reference to her having to be "strictly-d***ly" now that she was playing with the boys.

Some of the comments made my the media are really funny and show how personal opinions are allowed to tint the news/talk arena.

    -------

This is a question that combines sex with politics-
It's about women and how they react to other women., how men get funny when they support other men and some answers that would be interesting to hear.

Women fight all the time about equal rights, pay, glass ceilings and job opportunties.

So why all the cattiness about SP's voice, her background, her eyes and family? Sometimes I think that the world needs more women in leader positions all across the planet, but you sabotage your own sister's chances.

Politics is a funny game. You have men that curse the other men-the Left and Dems that hate Bush, but profess this weird, almost homo-erotic love for all things and men that aren't Bush. (was that a pun?)

I guess I can see why women get all goofy-nasty about other women, But why do you allow the AH men the privilege to keep the 'girls' down and out? You fight to keep you rears from getting pinched by men in private, but have nothing to say about how they are "groping" and disrespecting a woman politician in public?

I have no problem saying that I like Palin and would follow her anywhere-I saw her jogging in a pair of black leggings-she's a PILF! LOLOLOLOL!

I am tired of the male politicians who treat me as a CILF.

    P=politician, C=citizen.

LOL, I love women that pin their hair up, It's fun to imagine what it would look like after a "romp". These are the same ideas that people bring to the table about BO, He talks good!, He's a rock star! He's a snappy dresser! Wow

Because my comments about SP that have nothing to do with politics you may think that it's a typical male reaction, thinking about women with my nether regions. You are correct. I get the stupid jealous feelings when I hear women go on about George Clooney, you'll never meet Clooney, I'm tall, fairly handsome and women are not going to bother us when we go out in public.

    Hey,
If you want to see someone fail, give them the job and watch them crash and burn. Make them earn your disdain. I want a women to get to the second highest office in the world.

    Why? CHANGE!

SP is the GOP's answer to the Dem's BO. You can't crumb on either- you are a racist or a misogynist if you do. Both sides will protect their candidates and tout the uniqueness of their backgrounds. If you think that one isn't at home to raise thieir kids, what about the other? What is the difference between a woman who goes out to whore themselves for public office without her kids?
What about BO and family values? Why does he get a pass when he whores for office? Oh, the man is the PIMP!

Politicians kids are a hoot anyways, Gore's son, Amy Carter, the Bush Gone Wild duo-that is huge pun waiting to happen-were all kids that slipped a little because dad wasn't home or didn't give them enough love?

I am for a woman to have a turn at the dirty world of politics. Women worshipped at the knees of Bill Clinton, It's time for men to get an opportunity at the foot of a woman......

    THAT WAS A PUN!!!!!!

    Talk about cutesy and girly!

LOL, she does that eye blink thing that drive me nuts. IT's a young woman thing - "DADDY, Can I have......"

Palin cannot win, especially with so many critics.

    MAKE UP YOUR MINDS!

Either she's too inexperienced, too girly, to manly for wanting to mix it up with the boys.

She's only a week in and everyone wants blood from her, OOPS! Better not use THAT joke.

    Give her a chance.

If you do look at each ticket, flip it upside down. The same thing.

It's our choice, I hope we choose 'wisely'.
