Oh, Zara, how sad. I know you two were friends, that's what matters most, not whether you said hello that day.

My friend's brother was also born with a congenital heart defect, but died on our school playground in third grade at recess. Even when you know someone has a bad heart, it doesn;t make it seem any less sad and heartbreaking. I am glad he was there as a friend for you through school, and that he decided to be an organ donor so that his life will continue to be a gift to others.

Sending you big hugs, you'll be in our prayers.

Karen, how sad about your friend's brother.

He was always so upbeat and a real comedian. Everyone at school knew he had a heart problem and that he had regular check-ups, but no-one ever really gave it a second thought when they saw him.

I never knew he had such a profound Christian faith until now, nor that he carried an organ donor card.

He's done something beautiful by donating his kidneys and eyes, but it does make me sad to think of those striking eyes on someone else.

My school also put up a report on their website.

He was a very handsome young man. And those beautiful eyes will give another person the gift of sight.
I am so sorry for your loss of a friend, Zara. Please do not feel bad that you didn't talk to him that last time. No one knew what was to come. Be happy that you had the chance to know him.
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

Don't be hard on yourself because you didn't greet him that day. He knows that you were his friend and that you loved him. Peace to you and his family.
    Blessings,

This is so sad to read. I obviously didn`t know him, but from what I read in your post I can see that the world has lost a wonderful, selfless person, and God has gained one. I`m glad he donated his organs to help others even after his time had come. Prayers are on the way to his family, to you, and for all those who knew him.

How very sad for this young man and his family and friends. He was very handsome, and I am sure that he will always look down from Heaven and keep a close eye on his loved ones.

The faith of his family must be phenomenal. And that is truly what will help them get through this tragedy.
