Another blubbering mess checking in. You found your *dog of a lifetime* in your very first dog. The shock of life without her is something I wish you didn't have to experience at your young age. I know the rest of the Hoodlums are there to help you keep focus. A good thing because the road you are traveling is so very difficult. I'm so glad you were able to put down your feelings in the memorial and the video. I should have done that when I lost my Bailey, and now 13 years later, I don't know that I can let my heart revisit what was.

A thread like this brings back a part of the pain of that time of separation and loss. Hugs to you Ashley. And remember what love she gave to you was also given to her by you. A good dog and ...a lucky dog.

Like others, I have put off watching this video. I wanted to see it but I didn't. I knew it would make me cry. That song is one of my all time favorites. To match it up with Shadow as perfect! You did a great job with the video and the "eulogy". Shadow obviously was a great "first" dog for any child and I am glad you have so many great memories of her! Great Job, Kiddo!

One year ago today I lost my Big Girl. We talk about her often, and the house still doesn't feel the same. I find myself looking through her pictures a lot.

I just read through this whole thread again - what a great job you did writing about her and doing the video - a whole lot of love went into it all. I know how you feel about losing your girl because a year ago today we had to put Snoopy down. I miss him alot too - it is so hard not having him around any more. Isn't it amazing how some dogs are so special? How lucky we are to have had them with us, loving us. Your Shadow was obviously a VERY special girl and I am sorry she is gone from your life. I will be thinking of you and praying for you as the memories can make you pretty sad! Diana
