    Wow I missed this thread. Bad Gandersheim is a great old historic place and there was a nun who in the middle age was one of thefirst educated women around here.

    Yes, the nun was Roswitha, she wrote lyric. Her spirit is still very alive everywhere in Bad Gandersheim.

    Between Hannover and Göttingen, it's a small town, close to the Harz (mountains in the middle of Germany).

    Wow. A thousand year old town is just fascinating to me. I live in the American west, where towns are about a hundred years old.
