I've been BOO'd!!! Thanks Lori!
What a pretty girl!Did you have to trap her in order to get her or did she allow you to pick her up? No matter where she winds up you have saved her from a possible death sentence living on the street. Nice job - we are all proud of you! Our hero(ine!)
I will stay tuned!

Pam, I had a long "chat" with God on the way... I asked him to show me that I am doing the right thing by continuing to rescue cats, even though I am completely overwhelmed right now... And to please make this an easy rescue.
I drove up to the restaurant, pulled in back where the dumpsters are, and she was standing in front of them. Just like she was waiting for me to come back. I called her to my truck, she ran over, I picked her up, plopped her into the carrier with a can of cat food, and we came home. It has been raining with severe thunderstorms all day long, so when it cleared up I went to get her. It was about 12:30 am when I got her.
I sure hope she has a happy life. And that I can make a decision soon. I get attached very quickly... And I know that cats do too. I just can not afford more vet bills every year. With the 15 cats, 2 dogs, and the ferals, It is really a HUGE hit in the pocketbook come shot and exam time!
Please pray for her. And that she does good with other kitties!
Love, Katie and kitties
PS- I named her Honey. And I know she does not look that skinny in the pictures, but she is.. She always sits compacted, so you cant tell...

Will say a little prayer for Honey right now that the perfect home will come along quickly. I wondered when you were going to cave in and name her. That can be a dangerous thing because when they have a name somehow they are like family and you can't re-home a family member.
Maybe a co-worker might be interested? That would be nice because you could still see her occasionally.
I imagine your hubby did one of these >>>>when he saw you bring her home. That is what mine would have done.

I understand and sympathize about vet bills. I only have two dogs and one cat now, and even when they are well it is a blow to the checkbook after a visit.
You've done such a good job and I know that you'll make the right placement w/Honey. She looks exactly like my Creamsicle (in her younger, thinner days)! You've really got your hands full and I can certainly understand why you wouldn't want to take on any more cats. My vet bills have been crushing lately and I have the amount of cats that you do. Whatever your decision, I have confidence that it'll be the best for all concerned.

Katie, I'm so glad that you were able to go get her and that she came to you easily. She sure is a cutie pie and I hope that she'll be able to find a new loving forever home quickly.
Please continue to keep us updated about her.
Ok. Decision is made. I have been talking with a nice lady named Melanie. She lives about 30 minutes away from me. She has other rescued pets, and wants to adopt Honey.
She said that she is taking her in the morning to get her tested/vetted. I am going to call and put some money on the account at her vets tomorrow as well. She doesnt want me too, but I am anyways.
She is a very kind woman, and her husband as well. They were not looking to adopt more pets, but she said she could not stop thinking about this kitty. So I figure that is a good thing.
I am going to do a home visit in about 2 hours. She has 3 teenage kids, 2 girls and a boy.
She owns a real estate business and her husband owns a mechanic shop. She is going to sign a contract, and promises to keep in touch. I just hope she does.
I will update as soon as I find out if she is a proper home or not. But I have a great feeling about this! Wish us luck!

I had to LOL at myself..I read this
"I did check to see with my cell phone if she was a she or he!"
and thought.."My that must be a fancy new cell phone to do THAT!" ROFL. Then I thought, oh you ditzy blonde, she means the light from the cell phone! LOL!
Wouldn't it be great though if you could equip a cell phone with a chip reader??Then you could tell if a stray belongs to someone!
Anyway, our thoughts are with you that Honey finds the perfect furever home and it's an easy adoption for you. Thanks for helping her out.![]()
LOL! I guess I should have been more specific!
And yes I would buy one of those cell phones!
I went ahead and let Melanie adopt Honey. She was really nice, and I think she will give her a wonderful life. I will go to visit her in about a week. She is going to the vet tomorrow, and if healthy enough, she is going to go ahead and get her spayed.
I just hate that part of the process. Everything else is a piece of cake.
If only I had unlimited money, space and time.... I would keep them all.
Now that she is adopted, I am going to be getting the feral kittens in this week, and try to make an appointment for momma to be fixed. She already looks pregnant, and her kittens are only around 5 1/2 or 6 weeks old nowI just can not let her have another litter of babies...
Another week starts![]()
