Programming has to be appealing to its targeted viewers. That could be why childrens programming has a certain immature or lack of respect attitude. Children, *generally*, have that attitude or that willingness to separate themselves from their parents and identify as their own person. Seeing their parents, or other persons of authority, in a so-called "objective" point of view, with faults, however they have to paint it, helps part of THAT process. Independence and whatnot.

Plus, children are pretty easily amused.

Then again, adults are the one creating the programming.
