That was one of the most obnoxious SSB singers NASCAR has had all year.

    ----------------------

As I watch the Indy Car race last night I noticed that the announcers are not nice to Danica.

    Check it out.

When a driver talks to the pits they always say something like, "Rahal is telling his crew that he's losing power."

When DP calls in it's more like. 'Danica is complaining to her crew that the car isn't up to speed."

ESPN is running snippets of an interview with the woman who is suing NASCAR for harassment.....it got me to wondering how many woman are employed in positions like hers.

    ----------

I really don't care for the commercials for the NATIONWIDE coverage also on ESPN.

It's the racing slotcars that wreck.

I got into some arguements with friends who "don't get" racing-"You just watch the races for the wrecks!"-that just promotes the image that race fans are dumb bloodthristy morons.

I think that kills the idea of Robin supporting my ABH policy!!!

I was watcing a race tonight and thought it was new...turns out it was a repeat of February...well almost anyway!!! Same car numbers 1-2-3...Go Denny!!!!

After the race Clint Bowyer said a monkey could win in that car. We know Tony's done it 5 times!!! ( come on, have you seen the hair on the back?!? )

NAIR, the official hair remover of NASCAR!

But then again, Tony knows his 'beans'.

    --------------------

Why doesn't NASCAR just do a race that's 10 laps short and have a demo derby for the last 10?

    Were people throwing stuff again?

Tony Stewart has been granted his release from his current contract.
He'll go to Haas Racing next year.

    -----------

I really hate this kind of wheeling (pun intended) and dealing during the season.

It's kinda like telling a kid that his grad present is a trip to Hawaii no matter how he finishes the school year. I think that it crushes any desire for them to do well until the end of the semester.

So what keeps a driver interested? The Mark Martin contract might be a little different. Any races he runs in this season are practice for him. He looks forward to next year with a reason. Do you think that TS will just 'play out the string' this year?

The deal is said to make TS the highest paid driver in NASCAR.

Depsite the fact I think Tony is making a big mistake, he will still be my #1 Driver. I will still root for JGR (at least Denny and Joey!)

I understand the long term planning and working for his future...he isn't going to drive forever. But I think Dale did it right when he kept his driving and business separate. Buy the team, plan for the future, but keep racing where someone else can worry about the details. Robby Gordon is probablly the most successful as a driver driving his own equipment currently...and that isn't saying a whole lot! Michael Waltrip hasn't had much luck yet. Even Kevin Harvick coming down and running his own car in Nationwide has struggled.

As for the rest of this year, I think the top 13 have the best shot at making the chase. I predict 1 of 2 things. First, since the news is out, and the deal is done, Tony will have more focus on the track and will make the chase, with Biffle being the odd man out (Poor guy can't buy a break this year!). Or, he will have less focus, be ready to move on and he will be the odd man out.

Personally, I hope Tony makes the chase. I think this is his last chance at a title. Without the Gibbs organization behind him, he will struggle....even with Hendrick power.
