I, too, thought that scattering them in the ocean sounded perfect.

When my father passed away a year ago we had him cremated at his request. We decided to spread his ashes in a field that was on the property where he grew up and loved. It is a beautiful place where deer play in the morning and is just overall one of the most peaceful places I have been. After we spread the ashes I felt like I could breathe for the first time since he passed.

Just follow your gut and it will all feel right.

I am so sorry for your loss. Could you perhaps spread some ashes in the ocean, some in Jake's favorite parks or walk spots and keep some in your home? Just a thought...
