I think that thats one of the hardest things to understand about our Cats and thats when they growl, hiss and spit at each other , wrestle as though they were on the WWWE , and yet seconds later they are all curled up together.

Gosh, Samantha that is shocking behaviour indeed, but your mom seems to take it in stride.I'm glad it doesn't look too serious - like when Fister was rolling around in the yard with another male cat.
