PS--Thanks Medusa! I missed your reply.

  2. Mila, the disabled kitty from Chicago

I just want everybody here to know that my mom and I drove from mid-Michigan to South Bend, Indiana yesterday to meet Mila and her mom. And I can tell just by the few minutes I spent with her, that Rebecca LOVES this kitty and only wants what is best for her. I know it was difficult for her to part with her baby.

Mila had an incredibly stressful day yesterday, traveling from Chicago, getting caught in traffic, being given to a total stranger, then enduring another long ride from Indiana to Michigan, and getting caught up in yet another traffic jam. Despite all of the stress, she allowed me to hold her and pet her last night, and listened as I told her she has done NOTHING wrong. She is a sweet cat who is well worth the saving and was well worth the trip to meet her and Rebecca.

Mila will need to be seen by a vet to determine exactly what is going on with her. She does fall over alot, and does not have full use of her back legs. She has a great appetite and has been using her box since arriving here, having only one small accident on her blanket.

I'll be working some OT so I can hlep pay the vet bill when she needs to be seen. I will be posting her on my website and asking for donations as well. Anything to help this special girl along will be greatly appreciated-even blankets, toys, canned food, and a supply of her favorite dry food-Purina Naturals-will be greatly appreciated and accepted.

I plan to get her posted on my website soon-if anybody would like to read about her, my website address is: www.jjs.petfinder.org

    ONE MORE THING...

Mila will be moving on to her foster home in Ann Arbor once we can come up with a date that works for both Pat and I. I will keep her posted on my website for as long as Pat wishes and until we get enough donations for her care.

Thanks, Pat, for your willingness to take this special girl into your home. I can guarantee you that she is well worth saving!

I just now found out that this thread is about Mila! And I'm in contact with Jane, and we will soon figure out when Mila is coming to Ann Arbor. She's gonna be a Wolverine! (Go Blue!)

And I want to repeat Mary (Medusa)'s sentiment about critters. God bless you, Lee!

  7. Mila, the disabled kitty from Chicago

Well, there seems to me some major confusion regarding Mila and her placement. I agreed to drive over 700 miles to retrieve this kitty and bring her back to Michigan, and had said I would be working some OT to "help" cover some of her vet bills, but now the expectation is that I take her to the vet and pay for the vet bill altogether, with her foster mom "chipping in". This is all thanks to somebody, who shall remain nameless, on the handicappedpets.com group, that told Pat, Milas prospective foster mom, that "we" would be taking Mila to an internal medicine vet for work-up. WE WHO??? This person seems to think she can offer my services and my money without even asking. It seems that this person was more than a little confused-I agreed to pick Mila up-PERIOD! And although I dont mind helping with the vet bill, I cannot foot the bill alone.

I am tired of trying over and over again to help, and getting screwed over in the longrun.

Jane, I probably misunderstood about vet care for Mila. If so, I'm sorry if I said anything that sounded like I expected you were going to take care of that. Please do not feel you are expected to do so. Just your going all the way to Chicago to get her and bring her back has already been a massive contribution to her safety and well-being.

Let's arrange a time and place for me to collect Mila from you very soon. I'm so much looking forward to meeting her!
