Such a sweet story of precious Spunky who helped to heal the void left by Jason. It sounds to me almost as if Jason is reincarnated in Spunky.

My little Angel Baby did everything my darling YumYum used to do when she came to me and I am convinced that she is YumYum - back in a different fur coat.

It is wonderful that your owners saw you as a new born kitten and picked you out right away because of your lovely nature. You were meant for them, sweetheart, and you have brought them happiness in all you do.

You are truly adored and are adorable, Spunky, with your laid back catitude, beautiful golden eyes and sweet little smudges under your nose. Kisses and cuddles, and congratulations on being our special COTD!

    Spunky

Spunky is a beautiful cat! I would love his personality, too, if he were mine!
And, I have to say that he is fortunate to have such a devoted, loving owner such as yourself.
Your love for him is obvious, and I love the way you write.

Like you, we had a Spunky(RIP)!! He was a wonderful therapy cat, just like your Spunky, who helped you deal with your loss!!! But you sure sound like quite the character!! Why else would you be called " Spunky?" HAPPY COTD!!!

Dearest Spunky ~ When I first saw your photo, I did a double-take. For a moment there, I thought I was COTD! I'm enclosing a photo of myself so you can see what I mean. I think you will see the resemblance.

Naturally, I do believe you are the most gorgeous kitty I've ever seen!

Ask your vet about microchipping. ~ It could have saved Kuhio's life.

Spunky what a handsome fellow you are for sure!!!

I bet Jason had a paw in leading your new family to you. They can help with that sort of thing from the Rainbow Bridge, you know!

I hope you and your family are having a wonderfully fun day today!

Congratulations, sweetie, on being our special Cat of the Day!!!
No matter what anyone does, someone some where will be offended some how!!!!

Spunky is proof that stereotypes are wrong

While I was reading Spunky's and Jason's story the same thing kept coming to mind - cats do not deserve the reputation of being independent and aloof. Cats react to the way they are treated, for the most part (of course depending on when you adopt your furry friend, it can take time for them to come around to accepting love, especially if they have been abandoned or abused). I have read the stories on this website for years now and often read of cat's having "dog-like" behaviour (fetching, etc.). Cats are just being cats - reacting to the attention, friendship, love and care we give them. They can be easier to care for, especially since they do not need to go out to take care of "business" - but for all of you who think they need next to no care at all, wrong.... You get what you give, and you can get alot back from cats and enjoy every minute of it.
Please have your pets sterilized as soon as possible to lower, and one day hopefully eliminate, unwanted and abandoned pets. It IS our responsibility. Adopting from a shelter also helps - encouraging breeders just adds to the overpopulation.
