Adorable Amee, what a beautiful girl you are! And you and your mom were very lucky to find one another. It sounds as though you are thriving in your forever home -- and I'm SO glad those blood tests turned out well!

It hurts my heart to hear what those kids were doing to this sweet little cat; I teach elementary school, and would rather not think that children are capable of such cruelty to other living things (though I certainly know otherwise). Almost without exception, I find that those kids have been raised with adults who also condone, or at least tolerate, that kind of behavior toward animals (and people as well).

However, for every child who is thoughtless or unkind, there are ten of them who are loving and caring -- such as the neighborhood kids that let you, Ami, know about what was happening! Thanks for being an example to those kids of a person who opens heart and home to less fortunate creatures. At that moment, you were their "teacher" and helped reinforce a valuable lesson about compassion.

Congratulations to you all for lovely Amee's Cat of the Day honors! Break out the champagne and toy mice!
