When I took Tucker in to be neutered, I asked why they needed to do the bloodwork. The vet told me that sometimes they catch kidney or other minor problems in the bloodwork which only means they need some medication until the problem is fixed and then they do the neutering. So I am hoping and praying that whatever the problem is for Timmy that it can be resolved by medication and the surgery can be done soon.

It may be just an infection that can be cleared up - keeping everything crossed for the little guy

Please try not to worry too much. I know it's easier said than done. My Starr had a UTI that was caught before he was neutered and then later on when he was having severe diarrhea the vet did an ultrasound and found out that he had a kidney infection. With antibiotics they both cleared up right away. I hope that the same will happen with Timmy.

I always thought that bloodwork was done to make sure that animals will be fine when they give them anesthesia.

Well Timmy is back from the vets, he was able to get neutered. But his bloodwork was still not good. so they want mom to bring in a urine sample next week, to run more tests! Timmy was also Microchipped, and is now a cone head!! LOL!

I'm so sorry to hear that Timmy's bloodwork isn't good but glad to hear that he was able to get neutered. I hope it's nothing serious and that he'll recover from his neuter surgery quickly. He'll remain in my thoughts and prayers.
