I don't know of cat shampoo would be bad for your dog. You have more of a chance of the human shampoo making your dog's coat dry or your dog having an allergic reaction. It has to do with the ph balance. If you want to use human shampoo I would use the most mild shampoo you have. A tearless baby shampoo would work best.

I wouldn't use cat shampoo on a dog. But, you can just give him a bath with water. It will still clean him up.
